Wrap text in a cell or group of cells
It seems I can’t format a column in a spreadsheet to wrap text in Excel in Office 2016. I was able to finally do it only because another column was previously formatted that way in Office 2008 (which I had been using before 'upgrading'), and I was able to use the paintbrush to copy/paste the format. - Select the cells that you want to format.
- On the Home tab, click Wrap Text..Text inside the cell wraps to fit the column width. When you change the column width, text wrapping adjusts automatically.Note: If all wrapped text is not visible, it might be because the row is set to a specific height. To enable the row to adjust automatically and show all wrapped text, on the Format menu, point to Row, and then click AutoFit.

Question: First of all, I have the 'wrap text' option unchecked in Microsoft Excel 2011 for Mac. However, when I paste a large amount of text into Excel (especially text with line feeds in it), Excel automatically resizes my row height and turns the 'wrap text' feature on. How can I stop Excel from doing this?
Answer: The problem is that Excel auto-sizes the row height when you paste text into Excel. So when you paste text, as you can see below, Excel will increase your row height and set your cell's attributes to 'wrap text'.
To prevent Excel from auto wrapping text, right click on the row(s) and select Row Height from the popup menu.
